I wanted to share more with all of you - Here's a little more background on this exciting opportunity. Please share this with your friends, colleagues, aspiring edupreneurs, and everyone else who you think might benefit from having a fully supported way to open a school. I wish I had this support when I opened!

We believe all students are capable lifelong learners who deserve the chance to thrive.

Our vision has always been to create a methodology of education that works for a wide variety of learners and then share it with the world to make a greater impact.

We knew we could only be in community with so many students and families at our one location.

We have thought, and discussed, for years what expansion or growth would look like.

💡 Would we open our own schools or support others to open schools?

💡 Would they all need to be UP Academy's? That would be nice branding, but this isn't necessary to support students (although for those who want to open UP's this is a possibility).

💡 Would they all serve the same population? We all know that inclusive really doesn't mean everyone (I wish it did, and we have tried, but this is why it's so important to have so many schools! Each can do some things well, but when we try to do everything we end up doing many things poorly - see public schools).

💡 So, since inclusive doesn't mean everyone, who does it mean? We opened to be inclusive of students with physical disabilities. We struggled finding these families and students. They have been told for so long what is not possible, having a school tell them what was possible was too scary.

💡 Would all our schools be focused on the same thing? This didn't make sense either, we work to instill critical thinking and agency in our team and our students, our founders need that same critical thinking and agency to create the school that solves a problem in their community.
